AFOR participated in a workshop dedicated to current regulations and challenges in the field of telecommunications networks organized by APPCR. During the workshop, pressing issues in the industry were debated, and necessary proposals were advanced to lay the groundwork for building a robust, clearly regulated digital infrastructure prepared for the future.
AFOR continues its education journey in schools and shares with others from the Balkans and Southeast Europe the learning experiences from the WorldSkills Competition for Fiber Optic Splicers, as valuable experiences in preparing future specialists in fiber optics, the main infrastructure for the internet of the future. An invitation to shift from a passive attitude of waiting for applicants for open jobs to an active attitude of engagement from training to education and learning in vocational high schools and technical universities.
Romania is in first place in Europe for the second consecutive year in terms of fiber optic coverage. AFOR participated in the FTTH Conference Europe 2025 in Amsterdam alongside four of its members: TeraPlast, Teledatanet, Micromedia System, and Reco Production.
Between March 25-27, AFOR participates in the FTTH Conference 2025, in Amsterdam. Over 3500 participants, representatives of over 1000 companies from 100 countries visited this event. This year, 4 AFOR members: Micromedia, Reco, TeraPlast, TeledataNet, presented at the stand complete solutions for the implementation and maintenance of fiber optic telecommunications networks. Also, AFOR coordinated the fiber optic training workshop through Mr. Cornel BĂRBUȚ, vice president of AFOR.
On February 7, Timisoara designated its representative who will participate in the WorldSkills Fiber Optic Junction Competition at national level, in Bucharest on May 21-22, 2025. The competition, popularly known as the Fiber Optic Olympiad, is organized at the second edition by AFOR and WorldSkills Romania.
